Connecticut Business School

Location
Connecticut

Designed for LEED Gold Certification, the new School of Business is envisioned as a fundamental component of the University's strategic vision for a new South Quad, complementary in scale, materiality, and spatial richness to the existing campus while expanding and enriching its pedestrian-friendly network of open spaces.

The new building's two wings engage both the main campus and the New Road frontage, integrating the School of Business with the new quad and making it a good neighbor to the community. A masonry and glass facade creates a distinctive presence that respectfully responds to the broader context, while a glass-clad central stair welcomes students, faculty, and visitors to the schools iconic "living room" - a hub for lively exchange and collaboration.

The School of Business will provide 79,000 square feet within three above-grade floors, with three terraces of varying size offering opportunities to gather outdoors. A single below-grade level will house the Central Plant.

Al Khuwair Downtown District

This masterplan provides a vision for a minimally invasive and environmentally resilient new downtown district of Muscat where the Wadi meets the sea. Freshwater and saltwater ecologies entwine to form a waterfront promenade that activates the embassy district and extends a peninsula neighborhood into the bay. Diverse histories, geographies and futures form a new urban infrastructure for Oman.
